Beer Description
The name “Audit Ale” stems from beers that were made to be served at Cambridge and Oxford at the annual celebrations which surround the “auditing of accounts”. These beers were big and malty and eventually evolved into something of a barleywine. The last known version was brewed in the 60’s but Nethergate has revived in a new century. Hazy amber golden in color with a nice hit of hops at the front end fading to a malty, honey-like sweetness. Finishes with the faintest whisper of smoke and peat.
