Beer Description
Rampart is named after the defensive walls protecting the harbor at Ft. McHenry. Notes: Crisp lager with notes of biscuit and cereal.
Named after the defensive walls protecting the harbor at Fort McHenry, Rampart is an American lager with a German influence.
Originating in the late 1800’s, Helles lager is known as the populist beer of Munich. Traditionally, the style is revered for its clean crisp nature with balanced acidity and noble hop character. Easily distinguished from a Pilsner, Helles has a fuller malt presence with notably more biscuit and cereal notes.
Our version follows the German template with the addition of Munich Malt and Hallertauer Mittelfruh hops, the most noble of the so-called “Noble hops”, but gets an American touch with the addition of California rice.
