Beer Description
We decided to brew an imperial version of our Dunks Ferry Dunkelweizen, but in an unabashedly American way; pretty sure we’re not the first to ever do it, but a German wheat pumpkin ale isn’t something I’ve run across all that much, so it sounded like a good idea. It doesn’t hurt that we already make three German wheat ales, and have the perfect yeast strain to do it. In addition to the pumpkin added in the mash, a kettle addition of dark brown sugar, and cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice is paired with the banana esters and spicy clove imparted by the yeast. At 8.8% ABV it’s no slouch either.
