Morgan Territory Slow Burn '21 *Old Diablo*

This is a special year for our Bourbon Barrel Aged, English-Style Barley Wine. Slow Burn ‘21, our Old Diablo, began it’s journey in the fall of 2017 where we carefully fermented this alluring brew over the course of a month. We struck a delicate balance during fermentation to keep the alcohol smooth yet retain its signature dark fruity esters. To reach its full potential, we sent the entire batch on a two-year journey through our cellars in stainless steel until it found its true identity. What emerged was a gold medal winning celebration at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival. Next, we filled four fresh bourbon barrels with this champion and gave it two more years of soul searching. The result is a magnificent expression of sugars, alcohol, barrels, and time. Enticing aromas of vanilla and dark sugars give way to the rich flavors of toffee, toast, and subtle bourbon. The journey finishes with an incredibly smooth mouthfeel, restrained alcohol, and creamy carbonation.
