Barrel Aged Sour Ale with Merlot Grapes, Cocoa Nibs, Five Spice and Gochugaru
Will you still enjoy the view? Through the smoke into the blue. Second use Merlot grapes from Stone Ashe Vineyard were fermented on a careful blend of neutral oak-aged red and gold bases. This beer was then cold conditioned on Chinese five spice, Cacao Nibs, and Korean Red Chili powder (Gochugaru) resulting in notes of Pfeffernüsse topped with tart grape jam. A slight smoky impression from the chilies and five-spice delicately pairs with the light-body and slightly tannic finish of the beer itself. Impressions of chocolate covered raspberries and chamoy candies.
