Beer Description
Here’s a crazy idea (LocoNotion) make a beer our customers can have more than ONE of.
Although technically not an IPA, our LocoNotion ale has the hop presence to put it solidly in the category of an American India Pale Ale. Our goal in making this beer was to make a beer with the hoppiness and flavor of an IPA, but with a lower alcohol content and greater drink-ability. To that end, we lowered the starting gravity (strength) of the beer and simplified the malt recipe. The result is a straightforward, light-bodied, hoppy beer (Equinox™) that you can have more than one of and still find your way home. We used a new proprietary hop called “Equinox™” developed by the Hop Breeding Company. We are one of the few breweries in the USA to use this hop so far. The hop has lemon, lime, papaya, apple, and green pepper characteristics.
