Beer Description
Paw paw fruit pale ale.
The paw paw is a special fruit in southeastern Ohio. A truly unique fruit that tastes like a banana and mango, and is only available fresh for a week or two during the year. After talking with the Pawpaw man, Jackie O’s was persuaded to create a one of a kind beer using the fruit. Jackie O’s created a paw paw pale ale using hops that highlighted the fruit’s mango and tropical properties. A small portion of the brew was then conditioned on wild yeast to bring forth some funky fruit characters. The particular wild yeast that was chosen lent delightful pineapple notes and a firm tartness to the brew.
