Boontlinger Weiss has a split personality. Originally brewed solely for the purpose of barrel aging and souring, we tasted the beer before it was to be racked into barrels, we agreed that it had real promise as a Bahl Hornin’ beer. That’s what can be so fun about brewing, sometimes you just decide to go for it and see what would come out. And for the homebrewers out there – this beer is 40% wheat malt and, no, we don’t use rice hulls. Boontlinger Weiss is a light, refreshing wheat beer with a twist: a special Belgian yeast adds the complexity and balance that are the hallmark of Anderson Valley Beers. Inspired by German Weisssbier, this light golden ale has hints of tropical fruit and banana, and a cool, clean finish.
