Brooklyn Oktoberfest is a faithful rendition of the robust beer traditionally served at the world’s most famous beer festival. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would – he threw a beer festival. This festival, now known as the Oktoberfest, featured a deep amber-red lager known as Märzen Bier, which was brewed in March, aged through the summer and served in the autumn. Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, copper-colored, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. We have an heirloom variety of barley malted specially for us in Germany to make this delicious beer. It’s especially great with sausages, chicken, steaks, pork chops and roasted meats. Of course, it’s also very nice by itself – with or without the oompah band.
