Poured from a growler purchased at DiCicco's in Ardsley, supposedly one of the last kegs of this brew. Poured into pint glass (no chalice available). A: Striking amber color glowing with shimmer of red. Quarter-inch of putty-colored head froths up and settles into a thin skin. S: Big and strong fruity blast with notes of candied lemon and a bit of pepperiness. T: The yeastiness up front is there, and a pleasant fruitiness, too, but a bit underwhelming after the promise of the nose. A bit thin and watery in the middle without much of a finish. Strikes the "Belgian" note and not much else. M: Good and smooth carbonation. Refreshing. D: Pretty quaffable. A nice option for a session brew. Lighter in taste and body than the color and heady aroma would indicate. I did not expect a "spring-friendly" brew from this amber concoction, but I was glad to get maybe some of last of the kegged. Would love to try this with some strong cheese.
