Captain Lawrence Smoked Porter (6.4) ABV

A complex beer, with layers of flavors unfolding as this beer slides down your throat. Before the introduction of indirect-fired malt kilns, all beers had a smoky flavor. Today only a handful of brewers produce beer reminiscent of those of the past. We use imported German smoked malt to add depth and complexity to our Smoked Porter.
Sensory Profile: Aromas of smoked wood, licorice, and dark fruit. The flavor is a balance of smokiness, roasted malt, coffee, and malty sweetness.

Food Pairing: A natural match for any smoked or grilled meats. The smoky flavor of the meat and the unique smoky flavor of the beer blend beautifully to elevate the enjoyment of them both.

Malts: English Pale Malt, German Smoke Malt, German Munich Malt, German Vienna Malt, English Chocolate Malt, English Roasted Barley.
Hops: Goldings, Willamette

one of the smokier smoked porters. jammin with flavor, this is probably my favorite smoked porter.

Draft at Good Beer. It pours black into the glass. The aroma reminded me of BBQ, smokey and slightly sweet. The first sip starts out smokey and slightly sweet. Sadly the rest of my notes are unreadable. Good stuff.
