Mikkeller Black Hole Barrel Aged Edition Cognac (13.1) ABV

This imperial stout pours a deep black with a tan head. Excellent lacing and full nose with notes of earthy roasted malts, cognac, wood and licorice. Tastes of dark spices, vanilla, oak, malts and a touch of cognac. Smooth and full bodied.

Pours jet black. Mostly sweet smell with a waft of the high ABV coming through. Tastes very sweet with an exceptionally creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a bit too sweet for my taste. I would be interested in trying some of the other barrels that might impart less sweet overtones.
