Mikkeller Sur Munk (9.99) ABV

The newest Mikkeller beer is a Belgian hybrid between two classic beers. The Sour Monk is a sweet quadruple and an extremely sour and spontaneous fermented lambic. The result is best described as sweet and sour. Sour Monk is related to the Rodenbach and other red and brown beers from Flandern.

Pours a reddish brown with a fizzy tan head. The aroma is heavy on the balsamic vinegar, verging on stinky feet. Maybe some sour fruit...No, this is all vinegar. The taste is pretty much the same. I might just pour this over my salad tonight. Not digging this one. An epic fail by Mikkeller!
