Very smooth for a ten fifty beer. Strong body, coffee flavors. Can didn't impart any metallicness. Very tasty.

This was a surprisingly good stout in a can - the equivalent of a dark chocolate malt. (I was recently resisting, for the sake of my Atkin's diet, a display of malt balls at the new E. 86th Street Fairway.) This stout was neither as chocolately, syrupy and strong as Avery Mephostopheles (which I consider one of the best stouts out there), nor was it as sugary as Southern Tier Mokah (which gradually exceeds my tolerance for sugariness). Ten Fidy was recommended as a good alternative to other imperial stouts, such as those by Smuttynose and McNeill's Dark Angel, by the proprietor of City Swiggers. Those latter two have the bitter finish I prefer, but this stout avoided the sugariness that I don't care for. So, this was a good recommendation. City Swiggers just opened on E. 86th Street. A welcome neighbor. Today was my birthday: I added the can to my childhood beer can collection, and went another day avoiding the malt balls at Fairway.

Add about a shot of whiskey or bourbon to this and let it end your night. Otherwise known as a TenFidy Plus.

A boozy chocolate milk shake. It was a rare treat to have it on tap.

Awesome. Reminds me of another beer from the midwest (Dragon's Milk Ale)

Dark and thick. Don't let the sweet ripe fruit, only in the smell, fool you because there's a lot more packed in there.
