Beer Description
Today’s IPAs run the gamut from testosterone-laden-hyper-bitter-one-and-dones, to relaxed-pale ales that one occassionally takes for golden lagers.
Both certainly have their place, but neither adequately describes the balance of citrusy aromatic olde-world hop, malt-body, and smooth, yet clearly present undertones Mike struck in this masterpiece. It holds up perfectly to even the most fiery of spices, and cuts through all the fats pizza, duck, or a well-marbled cut of beef can throw at it. It’s no session-beer, but it’s a far from being the game-ender so many of its potent brethern IPAs are.
