I found out about Brian in B-more when friends offered us his home made traded brew for breakfast after a party. A chocolaty bit of delicious whose name hadn't been teased out yet. When we found out he would be in Philly, of course we went to meet him and he lived up to his reputation. Quiet, modest and a man who cared about *beer*. So much so that he's lost relationships over his first love. So you can imagine what each of his painstaking creations costs. The cellar door is one of his less complex beers. Crisp and refreshing, but haughty and bold. It *is* the sage that makes this beer. But you wouldn't know it because he blends it so well that it's a subtlety.

Drank it with the brewer at battle of the Belgians. The citrus flavor blew my mind.
