Stone Cherry Chocolate Stout (7.3) ABV

The taste is that of a very smooth stout, with an intense tart cherry beginning and a cocoa smoothness dominating throughout the palate. The tartness from the cherries balances out the smooth sweetness, and the addition of cacao and vanilla beans add intricate layers of chocolate and vanilla to the flavor profile. Draft. Not the most stout beer ever but the Cherry and Chocolate flavors are really evident from sip to swallow. It would be nice with dessert or mole and would probably make for interesting beer mixes. Worth trying.

Not impressive as a stout either by scent or initial drink, but the finish returns with a surprising chocolate covered cherry. It's like the Trapist ale Belle Vue Kriek only dark chocolate instead of white. Still I'm impressed with the fairly good stouts by Stone.

I love Mrs. Field's Diet Cherry Fudge Cola. This isn't that. Because of the hint of cherry in the finish of this stout, it is a novelty. Nothing more.
