Golden Spike Hefeweizen is a refreshing traditional American style Hefeweizen. It has a ruddy orange color with a clean and mildly fruity character. Hefeweizen, literally translates to "yeast-wheat." This beer is not filtered thus preserving its full-bodied character and authenticity it is also generally served with a lemon slice to enhance its naturally occurring estery flavor. Our name is a tribute to the joining of the trans-continental railway in Promontory Point Utah where the Golden Spike was driven into the ground.
