Beer Description

Noted for its bright hop character, this sessionable IPA is wonderfully balanced.

India Pale Ale (IPA) is a style of ale noted for its high hop content. The beer received its name in the 19th century when England controlled the country of India.

In those days, there was no refrigeration or pasteurization so the British had to brew a beer that would survive the long, hot trip to India and satisfy the thirsty troops stationed there.

It turns out that the hop flower is a natural preservative, so the Brits brewed an ale with an abundant amount of hops, and it worked. Hundreds of years later, the style is still the favorite of many a craft brew drinker.

Uinta’s version is somewhat bitter, but not as dry and strong as a traditional IPA. The beer is dry hopped with a generous amount of Centennial hops that give it a nice floral finish and a citrusy assertiveness without jeopardizing its malt flavor.
