About the brewery

Gulpener Bierbrouwerij is an independent family brewery Gulpen in the Dutch province of Limburg. The brewery was founded in 1825 by Laurens Smeets Gulpener Brewery called the Crowned Lion. On 14 September 1826, the first fermented beer delivered. The brewery tries her beer in a sustainable way to produce. Barley and hops are purchased from farmers in the region, their products wherever possible sustainable cultivation. Gulpener has developed about sixty suppliers, accounting for 500 acres of environmentally friendly cultivation.
