About this Event

It is one of the world’s oldest drinks, but there’s never been a better time to savor the flavors of beer. With more than 2,800 breweries operating in the United States today the chance to drink local has never been greater and the beers being produced are of the finest quality. Join beer journalist and cookbook author John Holl and explore the history of beer in this guided tasting with four different beers that will illuminate the past, dive deep into food pairings, and debunk many of the myths and misconceptions that surround the popular beverage.

John Holl writes about beer and the culture of drinking. He is the author of several books, including the critically acclaimed “American Craft Beer Cookbook.” He is also the editor of All About Beer Magazine and a syndicated newspaper columnist. John has written for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wine Enthusiast, Beverage World, and many other publications. He’s judged beer competitions and hosted dinners and tastings around the globe, regularly lectures on craft beer, and appears often on television and radio. JohnHoll.com and Twitter @John_Holl.
