About this Event

We’re über excited to announce that we will be hosting a very special beer dinner prepared by visiting Chef Wolfgang Theil of Bamberg, Germany’s renowned Schlenkerla Brewpub! The food and beer will be outstanding so… mach schnell and don’t miss this event!

Please note that rather than doing this prix fixe, we’ve decided to leave this as an open format, pay-as-you-go, event, so you can come by anytime from 5pm to 11pm and have as much or as little as you wish!

Everything will be locally sourced, as is our regular menu.

Soup
• Fraenkische Kartoffelsuppe (a traditional Franconian Potato Soup)

Mains
• Bamberger Zwiebe (Stuffed Onions with minced pork)
• Fleischkuechla (Minced meat dumplings)
• Bierhaxen (Pork knuckles)

Snacks
• Blaue Zipfel (Sausages!)
• Schlenkerla Kaese (Cheese!)
• Baggers with Smoked Trout (A mysterious potato-based German dish that sounds amazing)

There will be several Schlenkerla beers on tap, including a wooden cask of something smoky and great… we can’t wait!!!

BTW: This is funny… Schlenkerla roughly translates as “dangling”. Schlenkern is a German verb meaning to swing or to dangle. The -“la” suffix is typical of the Franconian dialect. The name reportedly originated with a previous owner of the brewery who possessed a hobbling gait. An image of this hobbling brewer can be seen in the designs on the Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier bottle.
