Please add a Growler section! Also much thanks for creating this website.

PB, we recently added the ability for places to add growlers and are in the process of adding lots of new features catered to beer stores. Dive Bar for example, has a growler section: http://www.beermenus.com/dive-bar

Soon enough, we will add a link to browse all places with growlers.

Stores that have growlers: Bierkraft, New Beer, Wholefoods Bowery

Bars: Dive Bars (all), Ginger Man, Rattle N Hum, Pacific Standard.. many more. Anyone know of any others?

I believe Hop Devil Grill does. Although I have not been there since their recent closing/re-opening, I imagine they still do.

Also, Skibbo’s in the East Bronx has 8 tap lines and sells growlers. The selection is generally varied and the prices are unbeatable (many for $9-10). The owner’s a super nice guy, and I highly recommend it for anyone in the Bronx, upper Manhattan, or along the 6 line (or anyone else willing to make the trek!). The BA page is:

I suppose this should maybe go under the “Beer Stores” section of the forum?

Hi. Hop Devil Grill was the first restaurant in the city to offer beer to go in growlers. We still do.

That said, growlers are not our core business, and it may not be something we continue to do in the future. When the bar is busy, its difficult to pull the bartender away from their normal work in order to fill a growler to go.

Now, if you are looking for a fun restaurant with two bars and 30 taps pouring delicious craft brewed beer, we are the place! Great southwestern style food, and lots and lots of daily specials!

Much thanks for adding the Growler section Will! Your site is the best. I can always find my favorite beer and even check prices. NYC beer drinking is so much better now. No more … “I guess I’ll have the Samuel Adams.”

Our pleasure P.B. Let us know if you have any other feedback, we’re always looking for suggestions. Cheers.

Would be nice to have XML/RSS feeds to track when beers rotate at bar X or when beer Y shows up at a new bar… Or if you don’t want to give out that much access to the raw data, the ability to get similar alerts by registering

Thanks for the feedback Eric.

We’re definitely thinking about ways to provide notifications.

It sounds like you’re most interested in subscribing to specific bars and beers? Are there any other notifications you’d like to be able to receive?

Cheers

I like the list of special events going on around the city, but I was wondering if there is a list of ongoing specials (such as best happy hours to get find cheap craft beer)?

How about a picture of the bottle/spout when you click on the beer to go with the description?

Beer photos coming very soon. Cheers!

Great site, guys. One feature that would be nice: Could you add beer notifications? In other words, could the site email me when a bar adds, say, Racer X to their tap list?

Again, great site, and I always make sure to thank the barkeeps who keep their tap list up to date here.

To add onto Charles D.‘s suggestion; Is it possible to alert when a beer is available at any bar in NYC? For instance, with Chicago and Milwaukee integration now, Three Floyd’s beers are listed frequently. If I was to get an alert if Gumballhead was ever in NYC, that’d be pretty nice.

Things I would like to see:
Drink Specials somehow integrated.

Food options. A lot of the time when drinking good beer, you would like to eat something with it. I know it isn’t the focus of this website, but to be able to post a menu unobtrusively would be nice.

Entertainment options. Again, not the focus of this site, but if I am choosing a day of the week to go to Bar/Restaurant X, it would be nice to know which days and times they offer entertainment that line up most with my tastes.

And maybe it is just me, but I would like to see the “featured” beers also listed on the main list of bottles below it.
