Pours a sexy clear mahogany with one finger of a beige head. The intensely sweet aroma is loaded with roasted malts and dark fruits, maybe raisins and prunes. Also picking up some toffee and caramel. The taste is sweet, but not cloyingly so. Black cherries followed by some toffee and finishing off like a nice sherry. Very tasty beer. Happy to have this in the States now.
Pours an oily jet black with a thin beige head. This is one sweet smelling stout. Rich chocolate and roasted malt notes, maybe some toffee. The taste is again very sweet, with a mix of chocolate, coffee and some caramel and vanilla. Has a slight alcohol finish. Creamy and full bodied. Southern Tier kicks ass again!
Pours pitch black with a thick creamy frothy brown head. This is the best smelling beer ever! Sweet milk chocolate and more sweet milk chocolate. An adult version of a Frozen Hot Chocolate. Picking up some coffee and warming alcohol in the taste, but not much. It's all being kicked in the rear by the chocolate. The 11% ABV is nowhere to be found. This beer is ridiculous. Insanely Decadent! An Instant Classic!
Pours a beautiful clear copper with a thin white head. The aroma is mild, spice and malts with hints of caramel. The taste is smooth and crisp. A nice balance of spiciness, caramel and biscuit notes. This was a pretty easy drinking beer. Lagers are usually not my first choice, but I am a fan of this one.
Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin off-white head. The aroma has smokey malt notes, tropical fruits, some sweet caramel, very earthy. In the front of the mouth I get a smoked wood like character, followed by fruits and a nice dry bitter finish. Unique flavors and aroma. A great beer to have at one of my friend Kasper's backyard bbq's.
Pours a reddish brown with a fizzy tan head. The aroma is heavy on the balsamic vinegar, verging on stinky feet. Maybe some sour fruit...No, this is all vinegar. The taste is pretty much the same. I might just pour this over my salad tonight. Not digging this one. An epic fail by Mikkeller!
Pours as black and as thick as oil with a one finger dark tan head. The oak smokiness from the bourbon barrels really shine though. The aroma is bourbon, burnt toast, anise and roasted malts. The front of the mouth is sweet and malt driven, while the back finishes off dry, smokey and ashy. A nice job barrel aging their Storm King Stout.
Pours jet black with an impressive dark tan head. The lacing clings to the glass, hanging around for a while. The aroma is huge! Roasted malts, vanilla beans, cocoa, and some alcohol burn. A rich bitter maltiness consumes your palate. Chocolate covered espresso beans is the best way to describe the taste. The alcohol is noticeable but not overpowering. This is one smooth creamy porter.
