From day one at Werk Force we’ve always loved to brew beers a little outside the box. When our friends Patrick and Julia at The Open Bottle threw out the idea of brewing a Graf, we jumped at the chance to brew one! What is a Graf you may ask yourself?? A beer-cider hybrid!! Brando formulated a recipe using 51% wort and 49% cider from pacific northwest apples and we had a blast brewing it with Patrick and Julia. They have been huge supporters of Werk Force from day one and carry our beers at their bottle shop in Tinley Park. Definitely pay them a visit if you’re in their area!
We hit this lightly hopped Graf with Ceylon cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla beans giving it a complex flavor reminiscent of fresh baked Dutch apple pie. This lightly tart hybrid ale is unbelievably refreshing.
