Beer Description

It is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

When the state of Bavaria ended its wheat beer monopoly in 1872, the brewery was sold to Georg Schneider I. Today, still run by the Schneider family, the brewery remains the iconic producer of Bavarian wheat beers. Wiesen Edel-Weisse originally was brewed for Oktoberfest until the Munich brewery was destroyed in WWII and subsequently relocated to Kelheim; for Oktoberfest, the suburbs don’t count. It was revived for the United States market, it’s U.S.D.A. organic certified, and it’s spectacular.
