About the brewery
Een van de meest creatieve brouwers van dit moment is een vrouw, Hildegard van Ostaden. Als brouwer van Urthel uit het West-Vlaamse Ruiselede bedacht zij de reeks Urthelbieren die geheel volgens de authentiek Vlaamse brouwerskunst met geduld en in alle rust bij Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven in Berkel-Enschot gebrouwen worden. Na haar studie aan de Kaho St. Lieven te Gent, waar zij afstudeerde als industrieel ingenieur met als specialisatie brouwerij, gaf zij vier jaar les aan jonge aankomende ingenieurs en begeleidde zij in opdracht van Belgische en Nederlandse brouwerijen tal van projecten. De bieren van Urthel zijn anders dan andere bieren. De Urthel Saisonnière won in 2010 de prestigieuze World Beer Award.
