About this Event

While checking out what Brooklyn Brewery and Garrett Oliver had been up to lately, with the hope of adding some context to our annual event next week, I came across this statement on their event’s page:

“In the spirit of real recognizing real, Brewmaster Garrett Oliver comes to the Blind Tiger once a year with a deep crew from the Brooklyn Brewery and a mic-dropping beer list. On April 22, Garrett and his friends from the Brewery will be hitting the taps hard for your drinking pleasure. Beer lovers pack the bar elbow-to-elbow, drinking beers from the farthest reaches of our cellars and listening to Garrett when he takes up position on the mantelpiece to deliver a speech and toast to all assembled. The beer list is tremendous; some are long-time favorites, some are impossible-to-find vintages, and some are so new only a handful of people know they exist. Check out the full list below, then cancel any other plans you have that night. You’ve got some work to do.”

I couldn’t say it better myself. Then I checked the list of beers and my mouth began watering, while my curiosity became unbearably thirsty. As usual, Garrett is digging deep into his stash, unearthing some of his newest, greatest hits, including Wild Horse Porter (aged with Brett), Ridgy Didge (strong Saison brewed with Australian brewery Mountain Goat), The Unsung Hero (crushable lemon-lime Saison), 2011 Black Chocolate Stout, a cask of B**** O** (don’t ask!), and Ghost Bottles of Galahad (Local 1 aged on cider lees), Dark Matter (barrel-aged winter’s blend), Local 2 (aged on Reisling lees), Hand and Seal (aged in Cognac casks), and K is for Kriek. We always look forward each spring to our annual visit from Garrett and Brooklyn Brewery, knowing our taste buds will be well taken care of. So please join us on Weds, April 22nd at 3pm, when the real meets the deal.
