Every spring, Basque cidermakers celebrate the release of the new vintage with a night of food, cider, music, and merriment. This evening, Vermont-based cidery Shacksbury brings a taste of this to Wassail.
Traditional Basque sagardoas, or cider houses, serve cider streaming from a tiny spout in enormous chestnut barrels. Shacksbury has engineered a system to bring the same tradition to NYC. Drinkers can “catch” cider the stream of cider in their glass, a method that aerates the cider and releases its flavors and aromas.
Cidermakers Colin, David, and Katie will be there and look forward to connecting with everyone and sharing a wonderful evening.
All are welcome (21+); this is a pay-as-you-go event.
