About this Event

It’s one of Brooklyn’s most famous beers. It’s on one of Brewmaster Garrett Oliver’s favorite shirts. And, it’s turning 21.

Join Brooklyn Brewery during New York City Beer Week on Monday, February 22 from 6 – 8:30 PM in the Tasting Room for a birthday bash in honor of Black Chocolate Stout. For the big night, Garrett Oliver will be presenting a vertical of ten different vintages of the American imperial stout, stretching all the way back to 2004. Black Chocolate Stout was Garrett’s “audition” to join Brooklyn Brewery, so he’s dedicated to making this party a monument to one of the Brewery’s most important offerings.

As you taste your way through the years, you’ll be able to take notes and compare them with Garrett’s thoughts as you go. Maybe you’ll like the way a certain year has mellowed over time…or maybe you’ll just really like the year-spanning playlists paired with each vintage. No matter what attracts you to your favorites, you’ll be able to pick up some of your own well-cellared bottles to take home at the Company Store.

Entrance is free for the entire event, but don’t delay: this will fill up. Check out the full list of vintages at the event website and get there early to party with Black Chocolate Stout.
