About the brewery

Birrificio L’Olmaia was founded by Moreno Ercolani in 2004, after two years homebrewing, with one single obsession: beer; good beer, high quality craft beer. During the first months of 2005 a small brewery was installed inside of an old farmhouse built in 1933 in the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany. The farmhouse was known as ‘L’Olmaia’ because of three elm trees (olmi) that were planted in the main courtyard when it was first built. From the 15,000 bottles produced the first year the brewery has since moved to Montepulciano where they produce 150,000, divided mainly into four different ales: La Cinque, La Nove, PVK and BK.
