Beer Description
Taking inspiration from the “West Coast” style of IPA’s, Prevailing is our Fieldwork-take on a segment of the IPA family we have always loved.
The heart and soul of this IPA is balancing the larger than typical bittering charge of hops with an ingredient we are known to rarely ever use: crystal malt. Upon first meeting Prevailing IPA, the obscenely massive hop aroma jumps out to greet you; loaded with a medley of hop stink ranging from pine to grapefruit to prune to freshly harvested sensimilla. As it hits your palate the sharp bitterness assaults the taste buds for a flash, then the delicate toffee like nature of the British crystal malt instantly soothes and balances, leaving behind a sticky resinous coating of hop flavor. The soft carbonation aids in keeping the bitterness subservient to Prevailing’s goal of being a deliciously crushable 7% IPA.
