Beer Description

Stavropol Russian Imperial Stout — the second in our Sister City Series — is inspired from the style originally brewed by the British in the 1800s to win over the Russian Czar. This style has been further imperialized by American brewers in recent years but ours is a tribute to the days of old weighing in at 8.7% ABV. This strong dark stout is built on a base of English Maris Otter and Irish Stout malt and fortified with oats, roasted barley, dark caramel, black and chocolate malts. Look for a decidedly sweet malty nose, with a body to match. It finishes with flavors of dry chocolate, intensely caramelized sugars, raisins and a hint of pipe tobacco.
