Merry Christmas, beer drinkers! For the 36th straight year, Anchor has released a Christmas ale with a completely unique recipe every year. Anchor Christmas 2010 pours fairly dark, though it looks ruby when held directly up to the light. It has a pretty substantial head that lingers. It has distinct notes of pine, ginger, cinnamon, cranberry, and licorice. It ends with some smooth roasted notes. In the end, the best way to describe it is that it simply tastes like Christmas. So, enjoy your holidays with some appropriate ale!
