Wine Description
Our Yadkin Valley, Estate Chardonnay is harvested from a single clone from Dijon, France. Partial whole-cluster pressing limits bitterness and astringency. Shelton’s Estate Chardonnay is our only barrel fermented wine that also undergoes ML (malo-lactic) fermentation. Two different yeast strains and ‘Sur Lies’ aging for 10 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels add layers of complexity to this wine’s balanced body and bouquet. Vanilla and toast melds seamlessly with citrus zest and green apple throughout and into a lingering, evocative finish.
