Beer Description
This is an interesting fall beer which doesn’t really conform to any style guidelines. It’s our version of a cross between a brown ale and an IPA.
It has the malt profile of a brown ale, but the hoppiness and bitterness of an IPA. Brown sugar, dark caramel and chocolate malts, and plenty of Pacific Northwest hops make this a great autumn treat! This brew has 7 different malts in the boil, to capture those rich caramelly and nutty flavors from the darker malts, and the Galena hop from the Pacific Northwest, to provide the bitterness. Willamette and Liberty (both are aroma hops from the Northwest) were added to the boil, and then in the fermenter it was dry-hopped with 4 more pounds of Willamette and Liberty.
