Beer Description

Stories of old tell of wandering Voyageurs, French-Canadian lumberjacks, who got (really) lost on the mighty St. Lawrence and ended up in northern Ohio. These burly men of the north brought with them maple syrup and a love of smoked foods. We took inspiration from these misty relics to re-create something of an anachronistic beer. Using maple-smoked malt from Cleveland’s Haus Malts, maple syrup from Geauga County, and a bold, strong brown ale base, we’ve produced this garnet-brown ale of deep intensity. Maple syrup sweetness bounces up against a pleasant sweet smoke, and rides the wave of caramelly malt to finish with an intense character.
