Maple Porter is brewed with an array of caramel malts in order to bring out the delicious character of the maple syrup.
We use maple syrup from our long-time friends over at Butternut Farms in Vermont, and add it at various times throughout the brewing process to pull out the perfect flavors. Adding the syrup in the boil brings out woody and rich maple flavors, and blending in another dose after fermentation gives the aroma of Sunday morning pancakes. This beer is designed to be wicked flavorful, but not too heavy and not too sweet.
