Beer Description

Pollenator is DEBC’s 1st year anniversary beer. We at DEBC can’t believe how quickly a year can go by, and this is our gift for the support and love as we’ve grown right before your eyes.

Bocks, by their nature, and their inspiration, are reactionary. Bocks are claimed by many to have originated as ‘the beer of Einbeck’, but they came from brewer in Einbeck reacting to what brewers in Munich were up to. While a few newer iterations have popped up, bocks have remained mostly the same. Pollenator is our reaction. We pay homage to the original doppelbock, Salvator through naming and usage of literal tons of Munich Malt, but turn on the afterburners with the addition of nearly a thousand pounds of Texas Wildflower Honey from Sunnyvale Honey Farms and aging this massive lager on new, medium toast American White Oak.
