Beer Description
Love finishes with a lingering tartness, and a combination of rind and briny flavors.
Sour Blonde Ale with 400lbs of Organic Pure Heart Watermelons that we sourced from our friends at Imperfect Produce. We took our Sour Blonde Ale and aged it for a year in Syrah barrels with some bugs (Lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces to be exact). Then, BOOM, in came the Watermelon: rind, flesh, and all. We re-fermented the brew in stainless steel tanks for 2 months and got a beer reminiscent of watermelon hard candy, with soft wheat sweetness, and a touch of dustiness from the Brett.
