Beer Description
Rich Maple – Caramel – Roasted Candied Nuts
When someone asks if you want fresh, straight outta the tree maple sap to use in a beer, the answer is YES, ALWAYS, YES.
And that’s exactly what happened when our friend John Argoudelis called to tell us he had more maple sap leaking from his trees than he knew what to do with.
So without a recipe in mind John collected 55 gallons of the fresh stick-icky for us and we started to brainstorm.
What came out was “Woods of Stockton” A maple brown ale brewed with maple sap as our strike and sparge water, and then we dosed it with Michigan maple syrup in the boil and secondary fermentation – you know just for good measure.
Deep rich maple flavor woven through notes of caramel, chocolate and roasted candied nuts.
