Beer Description
A faithfully reproduced English imperial pale ale harking back to the 18th century., where most of the hoppingnis aimed at flavour complexity and bitterness.
Hodgson is another great ale from New Zealand veteran brewer Ben Middlemiss. Christened after the London brewer George Hodgson, this hearty “India Pale Ale” hearkens back to the 1700’s when ales were highly hopped to be shipped unrefrigerated to the colonies. NB: hearken means to “pay heed” and indeed you should, as the uplifting NZ Motueka and Kohatu hops in this modern iteration of a classic style will fill your sails and transport you too! This classic ale will develop for 4-5 years if kept under ideal cellar conditions. Store in an upright position and keep away from light. Do not store in a refrigerator. Serve at 10-12C (50-55F). Decant into a glass large enough to accommodate the entire bottle in one smooth pour. Enjoy!
