Beer Description
Fermented with Flemish and wild yeast along with Rainier cherries. The results are fruity, funky, and delightfully tart.
In the Fall of 2015, Sean & Fran Fitzharris of Brewery Twenty Five joined Emily Thomas and Chad Brill at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing for an all day session, brewing up a batch of Flanders Oud Bruin. Four unique oak barrels were filled, four unique yeast strands were pitched, and each barrel took on a personality of it’s own. They affectionately named each barrel after each of their dogs and the rest is history.
PETE was originally fermented with a Flemish yeast and then secondarily with wild bugs harvested from Emily’s uncles’ 10 year old Solera. Rainier cherries were added to make those wild bugs happy. The results are fruity, funky, and delightfully tart.
