Departed Soles Laugh Now, Cry Later

Simply put, as the mural on our back brewery wall goes, “Laugh now, Cry Later.”

Our brewery has been inspired by those words since its inception, and now, it has a beer to match.

“Laugh Now, Cry Later-Hopped” continues with the trend in definitely not gluten free hazy IPAs, taking those words to a whole new level, and letting them dictate our hopping schedule on our latest NEIPA.

We added a plethora of New Zealand hops – namely Rakau and Motueka – in the whirlpool way down at 175 degrees Fahrenheit, along with a touch of Citra Cryo Powder, then tossed in some more Motueka during fermentation, and even more Rakau at terminal gravity. All said, it was 5 pounds per barrel in the fermenter! Just to make it a little more fun, we fermented it with a new-to-us tropical yeast that gives off hints of grapefruit and stone fruit.
