Beer Description
Scottish strong style ale with a chewy malt base that includes two types of caramel malt from Chile plus pale and dark malts from the north of Great Britain. The flavor and aroma hops are from our friends across the river at Nebraska Hop Yards. We liked the earthy character these add to this brew. In the mid-19th Century most Scottish breweries were actually using a mixture of yeast varieties, so we tried to recreate some of the flavor that would have come from this.
