In the coldest months of winter, we reach for comfort food…and comfort drink. With this in mind, we created Krysztoff, a big, bold, Baltic-style porter.
For this brew, we filled the mash-tun, twice, with the finest malted barley, crystal and chocolate malts. We then added Magnum and Mount Hood hops to the brew kettle to balance this elixir and give it a whisper of hop flavor. A fermentation as long and cold as a North Coast winter insured a smooth, rich, full-bodied beer.
Krysztoff is suited to be served in a snifter, allowing your hand to warm the contents to release the subtle aromatics and flavors of toffee, caramel, chocolate and raisins. At nearly 10% abv, this beer has a smooth, warming finish, and with age, look for port wine and sherry characteristics.
