Imperial Stout brewed w/ coffee & cascara (dried coffee cherries) from Counter Culture Coffee.
A collaboration with Takoma Beverage Company and Counter Culture, Purple Black Eye is a 12% imperial stout conditioned on whole bean coffee and cascara — the dried skin of coffee cherries, often used to make tea in coffee growing regions.
In Purple Black Eye, we chose to spotlight Counter Culture’s Hologram blend, a mix of Latin American and African cultivars that bring robust flavors of chocolate and ripe fruit. The El Salvadoran cascara, meanwhile, deepens that fruit character with dense notes of berry and juicy compote
