Dark roast coffee added to the mash, then lactose is added to give some sweetness to cut the bitterness of the coffee.
Dark roast coffee is added to the mash basically allowing the coffee to brew while the mash steeps. Lactose, a non-fermentable milk-sugar is added to give some sweetness to cut the bitterness of the coffee.
