Beer Description

Péché Mortel Imperial Coffee Stout, 9.5 % alc/vol. A deep, dark and profound stout. Espresso coffee is infused during the brewing of Péché Mortel, resulting in an intense dark beer with roasted malt flavours enhanced by bitter coffee. The dry finish is long and persistent. Intended as a tasting experience, we invite you to enjoy this brew in moderation. This beer was first crafted at our Montreal brewpub in October of 2001.Péché Mortel Bourbon 2018 & 2019Imperial Coffee Stout aged in Bourbon barrels, 9.5 % alc/vol.Péché Mortel is an intensely black and dense stout in which coffee is infused during the brewing process. The result is a strong beer where prominent roasted flavours coalesce with a powerful taste of coffee. Once fermentation is complete, the beer is aged several months in bourbon oak barrels, which imparts some vanilla and woody aromas as well as bourbon flavours. This beer was first crafted at our Montreal brewpub in May of 2009.Péché Mortel CeriseImperial Coffee & Cherry Stout, 9.5 % alc/vol.This version of Péché Mortel has been brewed with real cherries. Intense coffee aromas give way to subtle cherry notes. Fruity acidity mingles with the roasted taste of coffee, revealing flavours of sour cherry, bitter chocolate and rich, dark coffee. It finishes dry, with an echo of tart cherry lingering on the tongue. This beer was first brewed at our St-Jérôme microbrewery in St-Jérôme in November 2018. Péché Mortel CoconutImperial Coffee & Coconut Stout, 9.5 % alc/vol.Péché Coconut, our imperial coffee stout matured on toasted coconut. Coffee aromas characteristic of Péché Mortel are very present on the nose. Toasted coconut adds a rich nuttiness and a touch of vanilla flavour, with a finish accented by the bright acidity of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. This beer was first brewed at our St-Jérôme microbrewery in November 2018.Péché Mortel Islay 2019Imperial Coffee Stout aged in Islay Scotch Barrels, 9.5 %Produced in limited quantity, our Péché Mortel spent several weeks cradled in precious Islay scotch barrels, imported from Scotland. The coffee and the peat marry harmoniously in a nectar that is as powerful as it is delicate. On the nose, scotch lovers will detect the aromas of peat characteristic of the whiskey produced on this island. Upon tasting, the amalgamation of coffee meeting peat and oak creates an explosion of flavour, all supported by hop bitterness. To be enjoyed slowly and sparingly. Slàinte! This beer was first brewed at our St-Jérôme microbrewery in March of 2018.Péché MokaImperial Coffee & Cocoa Stout, 9.5 % alc/vol.Péché Mortel Moka is an imperial stout brewed with coffee and cacao. A lighter roast accentuates the chocolate notes of the coffee, which harmonizes perfectly with the rich, chocolatey taste of the cocoa and dark malts. This beer was first brewed at our St-Jérôme microbrewery in November 2018
