Beer Description
Sour blond ale aged on fresh grapefruit. A beautiful marriage of wood-aged sour beer and fresh grapefruit.
Wooden Soul #4 is a Sour Blonde Ale aged in 9 Sauvignon Blanc barrels and 3 California red wine barrels housing a native Brett strain, further aged on grapefruit. This beer is complex blend drawn from 12 select oak barrels and fermented with more than 4 strains of Brettanomyces and several strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria. We used the whole grapefruit! Chopped up to expose the interior of the fruit. So there is a character from the zest, pith, and juice cells. We even juiced and zested some for good measure!
